Part 11: Dirty Directories at Work
I've been busy with lots of things lately. Some of it related to my attempt on buying second domain for my upcoming blog. Why create another blog? Is it necessary? Honestly, you don't. Especially if it relates to the current niche but alas, I have something on my mind.
Ok, back to the topic. I published many articles in the previous weeks, relatively from various categories. However, I am not so happy since there are not many visitors to my weblog. Even back links from other resources. As mentioned, I love to know readers' point of views, so that it serves the purpose of having a blog.
This week, I decided to concentrate on submitting my weblog to directories. Yes; directories. There are hundreds or thousands of directories out there and most of them are free. If you have the money, then pay someone to do the job. It is very tedious. Be it from searching up to filling forms, it takes too much effort. Until now, I submitted this weblog only to 30 over directories.
Yes, very little compared to you but let me put it this way. I hate reciprocal link, something I cannot afford for directories. To my opinion, directories are directories and they should provide the resources for us. Do I forget to mention that most directories include "no follow" tag to your link? Hate me if you like but that's the fact. I sneaked into their source codes and even PR6 directories used such technique, especially on regular links.
Some good directories which I used to submit in the past now imposed fee to get listed. How pity. Alas, that's what you get when you are popular--selling your PR to newbies.
I'm growing tired so I move on with new method--submitting my weblog through articles. If you browse my weblog using search engines, you'll find some of my articles listed in article directories. Yes, that's what I've been expecting. Back links with no hidden tag.
Conclusion? Submit your articles. It's worth the effort. Don't think directories will help you much unless it is DMOZ.
